I’ve just found a really cool Facebook App to help evaluate the current and potential value of any given Facebook page that is not restricted.
It’s called the ‘Social Page Evaluator’ App and there is currently a beta version available. The App was released by Vitrue a social media management company providing technology solutions to help brands harness the vast marketing potential of social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.
The App that only took its developers 63 hrs to build and it’s a helpful first step to attach a real monetary value to your Facebook page. In the first instance, this will help marketers to understand how much a FB page is worth and how big its unexploited potential value is.
“Marketers are clamoring for data to determine ROI,” observed Vitrue CEO Reggie Bradford.
The evaluation is examined on the basis of a number of different factors. Amongst others the number of fans and their interaction and the post frequency are taken into account.
After you enter the page URL into the search field, you will get a value for your page based on a default assumption of $5 ‘Earned Media Value’ per fan. However, it’s just an assumption and if you disagree with this, as every page is different, you can make your own assumptions on how valuable a thousand impressions are for the posts on any particular page. These can range from $1 to $24.
Furthermore, to see the brand’s forecasted page value, you can manipulate the following factors: posts per day, engagement and fan count. The App also gives you the possibility to draw comparisons with up to three different Facebook pages.
Without repeating everything that was already said on the Vitrue- or Mashable blogs, I will demonstrate how the app will value the Facebook pages of three selected 2010 Dose of Digital Dosie Awards Finalists in the category ‘Best Facebook Page’ (All pharma and healthcare Facebook pages and apps whether corporate-sponsored or not).
1. Johnson & Johnson Network
2. sanofi-aventis VOICES
3. Take a step against cervical cancer
According to the app, the winner is ‘Take a step against cervical cancer’, but only if you rely on the findings of the ‘Social Page Evaluator’, so watch out for the real winner on Dose of Digital. It is also worth mentioning that the page potential for all those reviewed is not being exploited to its fullest.
Try it yourself and let us know what you think about the App. Keep in mind that the evaluation process can take up to few minutes if the page has not been evaluated before…

That#s great! Will be helpful to convince the board of directors within my company to implement our new social media strategy!
Thanks for this hint!
