Here are my quick fire top 5 social media news break down for the past week

1. @anywhere – This is the news that Twitter will be releasing a new platform that will allow deep Twitter integration, this will allow you to have the “Twitter experience” without being logged into Twitter. Partners already announced includes Amazon, Bing, Digg, eBay, Meebo, Salesforce.com, Yahoo!, and YouTube.

2. SXSW – South by South West conference started 12th of the Month, it is the conference to be at and usually has many cool new features demoed. This years includes news of new Digg, @anywhere, lo-so and QR codes.

3. New Digg – Remember Digg? I lost interest when it become an SEO contest. Well now Kevin Rose would like it to be the news centre online, (I always thought that was Twitter’s thing but) looks like from the news again at SXSW it will integrate with both social networking power houses Twitter and Facebook. Digg will have to have some awesome new features to become the news centre, cannot see Twitter losing that crown.

4. Lack of ad platform for Twitter – Twitter was expected to release detailed notes about it’s new ad platform at SXSW conference, well they did not and made quite a stir. Like many I am not disappointed but I expect an announcement next month.

5. iPad went on pre release in America, I officially already love and hate the iPad in equal measures. Still no definite release date here in the UK but no doubt will be the geeks first choice and .
